We've been without Internet for the last few days and we really wanted to try making the pompom catapults we found on Almost Unschoolers. We had to work from memory since we couldn't log on to double check the instructions.
When we used them they flung straight up more than out (actually my first attempt hit me right in the eye). Still the kids had fun.
After checking Almost Unschoolers, I can see the pop-stick was glued further back, and they also used a lid to hold the pompom., this might improve flight direction of the pompom. We'll have to give it a go again.
